Welcome to the N8 Upper Cervical Chiropractic
New Patient Center!
We understand that arriving at a doctors office for the first time can be nerve racking. Filling out paperwork, learning new faces and names, and getting to know your way around the office can be an overwhelming experience.
That’s why at N8 Upper Cervical Chiropractic our aim is to remove any stress or causing unnecessary tension and to make you feel comfortable. In this area of the website you will be able to take care of items necessary for your visit prior to arriving, in the comfort of your own home.
Laying the Foundation
Chiropractic care is like building a house – certain things have to happen in a particular order in order for everything to stand strong and work correctly. When building a house, if you tried to put up your walls before you had a solid foundation, your walls would be weak and eventually collapse. If you tried to put on your roof before the walls were ready, you would run into the same problem. The same is true for your body. Your body has to go through a particular plan of care in order to repair itself correctly and fully. There are three general phases of chiropractic care . . .
If you are in pain when you come into our office, the first objective is to help you feel better. Depending on the severity of your problem, relief may occur as soon as you walk out of the office, or after a few visits.
During the corrective care phase, muscles and other tissues are allowed to heal more completely, thereby helping prevent injury.
Once your body has fully healed, it is important to come in for periodic adjustments to avoid problems in the future. After you have achieved maximum correction, your doctor will recommend a wellness care plan that best fits your particular needs.
What to Expect on Your First Visit
to N8 Upper Cervical Chiropractic
Consultation and Examination
Upon entering our office, our receptionist will welcome you as a member of our family. We will request that you complete our patient forms located in the New Patient Center. This paperwork provides us with your health history and information on your condition.
Next, you will have a consultation with the doctor to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, and health goals. This initial visit is designed for the doctor to learn more about you, your condition, and expectations to determine how upper cervical chiropractic care can meet your goals.
After your consultation, the doctor will perform a complete chiropractic examination to determine if you have body imbalance and potential spinal misalignments. He will then use painless, state-of-the-art infrared technology called the Tytron Nerve Scan to determine if you have any underlying nerve damage. However, nothing will be done in our office without your consent.
If your scan results show areas of concern, the doctor will then recommend specific X-rays to confirm two things: Whether or not we can accept your case, and to determine exactly what the cause of the problem is and where. An X-ray is the only way to know whether or not you have spinal misalignment and help us develop the most effective treatment plan for you, and alert us of any serious spinal conditions. Most people are amazed once they see their X-rays up close. In some cases, they can even identify their misalignments and degeneration themselves.
Because of the extra amount of time the doctors take to analyze and study your X-ray and exam results, chiropractic care is not administered on the first visit, and that is because there are two things that we will not sacrifice in the office- your health, and our reputation. We’ve worked too hard for both and as the saying goes, “To see is to know, and to not see is to guess”. We would never want to guess when it comes to your health.
Doctor’s Report & First Adjustment
Welcome to the Doctor’s report
This is going to be the most important visit you will ever have in our office.
On this special visit, the Doctors will take extra time to share with you life-changing information that will accelerate your healing. Rest assured, you will never look at health the same way again. During this time, they will also be going over what normal and abnormal X-rays look like, and compare it to your X-ray results as well cover key questions most patients ask such as:
- How much care you need
- How long it will take to fix
- How much it will cost
After the doctors review all of your examination results and conclude that your atlas is out of its proper alignment, they will let you know and recommend that care begin immediately.
Following the first adjustment, the doctors will have you rest for a few minutes and then check you again to see if your adjustment is ‘holding’ and how your body is responding to the correction. He will then take a follow-up reading on the Tytron nerve scan as well as X-rays to compare to the initial scan and set of films taken on the first visit. If the doctors conclude that maximum correction has been made, then you are done for the day and are beginning the healing process.
Continuation of Corrective Care Program
On the first visit, you consulted with the doctor and went through a complete chiropractic examination to determine if we could accept your case.
On the second visit, you viewed your x-rays for the first time and fully understand your particular problem as well as received your first adjustment and began the healing process.
Your third visit is the continuation of your care where you will be checked by the doctor, adjusted if needed, and introduced to your individualized in-office exercises as well as home-care instructions. This is a crucial part of your care plan and will further speed up your healing as your body undergoes maximum spinal correction. Your diligence in performing these exercises as well as keeping up with your recommended visits will determine the quality of your results.
